It's a real fur or faux fur, the attraction is controversial.
Sophia, why are you wearing fur? don't you know it is wrong ? these are the different question I was asked walking down the street of London because of a fake fur coat. One of them went overboard with fur criticism.
Fur or fake fur will forever attract controversy in the fashion industry, even though fake fur is not a real animal fur. It's a synthetic fibre that are produced differently. Winter is more like the golden season of wearing fur, the ongoing debate as to whether wearing fur is ecologically sustainable for our society. As for the ethical side issue, there is still a general fuzzy attitude to wearing fur. Some people still don't like the idea of looking like Cruella de Vil, with raising eyebrows such as is that real fur or fake fur.
Fashion is one of the fur industry's greatest recent successes. The likes of Dolce & Gabbana, Alexander McQueen, Prada, Louis Vuitton, Fendi and Tom Ford are all including fur in their yearly collections.
What are your thoughts on the rights and wrongs of this controversial fashion?
Do you think wearing fur break an unpardonable taboo or simply exercising your choice to dress as you like ?
I am trying hard to understand why animal rights group don't make this much fuss over the use of leather. Doesn't that come from animals too?

First of all, I have to say I love the your fur coat. The colour and details is amazing and it looks amazing on you. I would definitely wear this coat.
ReplyDeleteSecond, I live in Canada and fur is everywhere and very common especially in the cold weather cities (Provinces, etc) like mine. You see it all from coats, to mittens, moccasins... you name it, its out here. And it's worn more out wore out of a necessities than style. Thou style, is still a key component it. lol
I think everyone is entitled to their own opinion... I do find it a bit of a double standard that the same people don't seem to have a problem with leather goods or eating meat. I mean the animal still loses its life...

As an Eastern European, I was surrounded by fur from an early age - it's normal back home (as it's very cold, just like the Canadian lady in the first comment) - I do think so too, each to their own! People REALLY go overboard with comments on fur, and Karl has a point!

I personally don't wear real fur because I don't like the idea of killing an animal solely for its fur and for fashionable reasons. To those who will defend wearing real fur, I do have and wear leather pieces and eat meat occasionally, however, I do see a difference between eating meat and wearing fur. This is such a controversial issue that I don't think either sides would ever agree and understand each other's points. Nonetheless, I love your faux fur coat and I will never give up my faux fur because well, it's FAUX; that's like saying vegan leather is wrong, too!

I only wear fake fur! In Europe there is also fuss over the use of leather. :) So some big brands don´t use leather for their handbags anymore. Your fur coat is definitly eyecatching! :) I like your orange accessories a lot! Perfect with this coat! xoxo

My Italian grandma left me some fur coats after she died, they are something which I would not ever have bought but I know that things were different in the past. The quality of faux fur now is so much better!

OMG this fur cat is everything!!!!!! Fabulous! For the comments you receive, I understand completely!!! I love me a good fake fur! I honestly never really cared to wear real, but it intrigues me how people are so quick to judge. Honestly I am a believer in letting people wear what they want, just look fabulous doing it.
